Date: 31-October-2025

To
The Hon'ble Chief Minister
Government of Telangana
C Block, 6th Floor, Telangana Secretariat

Telangana State

Subject: Urgent request for firm action against mob intimidation near EFLU, Hyderabad

Respected Chief Minister Revanth Reddy garu,

The Centre for Liberty strongly condemns the recent incident of mob intimidation targeting Joshyettan’s Kerala Thattukada, a restaurant located near EFLU, Hyderabad. According to reports, the attack was carried out by individuals associated with self-styled “cow-protection” groups allegedly linked to the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

The restaurant was reportedly attacked for serving beef dishes—an act that is entirely lawful under the State’s regulations. Such incidents of coercion and violence threaten citizens’ individual liberty, property rights, and freedom of enterprise. They also pose a serious danger to communal harmony and undermine public confidence in the rule of law.

It is important to reiterate that the sale and consumption of beef (from ox) and buffalo meat are legal in Telangana, and no private individual or group has the right to impose their personal beliefs through intimidation or violence.

We respectfully urge your government to:

  1. Direct the Hyderabad Police to promptly identify and prosecute those responsible for this mob violence.
  2. Ensure the protection of lawful businesses and their staff, particularly those targeted on communal or ideological grounds.
  3. Reaffirm the government’s commitment to upholding the Constitutionally guaranteed rights of citizens to live, work, and do business without fear.

Such vigilantism must be addressed with firm and impartial action to ensure that Telangana remains a state governed by law and liberty, not mob coercion.

We trust that your office will take immediate and decisive steps in this matter.

With respectful regards,

Ajay Mallareddy
